About Us

Our names are Heather & Colin Mahoney. We are Cornish Rex Breeders in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. We are members of the Cat Association of Tasmania Inc.
We are also founding members of the Short & Curly Cat Society Inc. here in Tasmania.

We started showing Burmese in 1991 in Darwin, originally going to a show to get a Cornish Rex and as there were no Cornish Rex kittens available we decided on a Burmese kitten, “Alex”. After showing Alex we were bitten by the show bug and on our return to Hobart bought our first Cornish Rex girl, Grand Champion Nampara Curly Sue.
Nampara Curly Sue gave us our first winning show cat, Grand Premier Neuter Champion Alizmah Oliver Twist (a beautiful chocolate smoke boy). Oliver went on to take out many Best In Group awards including Group 3 Kitten of the Year.

Luck was on our side when we found Brian & Pauline Augustus of Terrina Cattery in NSW who provided us with two beautiful girls from Gold Double Grand Champion Terrina Copper Fizz - Champion Terrina Princess Serena & Double Grand Champion Terrina Grimalkin. This started us off on our show journey and we have gone on to breed many champions who have won Kitten, Cat & Neuter of the year awards.
